The oil market has brushed off Iran's weekend air assault against Israel, with futures trading as much as 1.5% lower on Monday. Oil prices could spike above $100 a barrel depending on how Israel responds to the attack, the analyst wrote. Attack 'well-telegraphed' Iran's attack, though unprecedented, did little actual damage as Israel and the U.S. intercepted nearly all the drones and missiles. The Islamic Republic warned, however, it would strike harder next time if Israel responds to the weekend attack. Potential threats include Iran seizing ships associated with Israel in the Strait of Hormuz; Israel attacking Iranian oil and gas assets; or Iran striking energy assets of its neighbors if Israel hits too hard.

Trader Joe's products have shown me that eating a plant-based diet can be delicious & affordable. When I take a trip to Trader Joe's, I pick up items like mini vegetable samosas and super-firm tofu. Trader Joe's also carries vegan items I can't find at most other stores, like heavy whipping cream. I think Trader Joe's products prove that eating a plant-based diet can be easy, affordable, and accessible. Here are some of the best vegan items I picked up during my recent trip to Trader Joe's.

Killens’ first appearance in a Super Bowl had ended in unimaginable disappointment. The linebacker, who was in the league for seven seasons, never competed in another Super Bowl during his playing days. Killens is part of the crew officials ruling over the upcoming Super Bowl – which will be played in Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on February 11 between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers – making him first person to both play in and referee a Super Bowl. Both gold and bitcoin kicked off the week by hitting new milestones — spot gold hit a record high above $2,100 per ounce, and bitcoin topped $42,000 to hit its highest level since April 2022. The digital currency appears to have broken through key technical levels and could continue to rally through the end of the year, according to Joel Kruger, market strategist at LMAX Group. "A Bitcoin ETF allows easy access to Bitcoin via broker accounts, RIAs and wealth/private banking channels. Think of Bitcoin ETF as the largest pipe ever built between traditional financial markets and crypto financial markets," the note said. Oil prices may be due for a pop after their recent struggles, according to two analysts. International benchmark Brent is down 3.7% this week, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures have lost nearly 4%. Flynn said virtually everyone in the market right now is short oil futures. "You could easily mount a recovery here because we're probably the most oversold in a year in the market," said Flynn. OPEC+ will meet in two weeks and could take action to defend prices while there's still a low risk of regional war.

The future may be bright and electric but copper and the rest of the LME metals are currently caught in an old-fashioned industrial downturn. Such "green" investment appears to be acting as a major offset to the downturn in the traditional metals demand driver that is the commercial property market. MIXED SIGNALSThe energy transition and the resulting booster to metals demand was the core talking-point at this year's collective LME Week discussions. Yet the LME metals have not yet escaped the gravitational pull of the traditional industry cycle. But most visitors to LME Week will have returned home braced for more short-term price weakness.

Fundraising and deal-making have dropped sharply at European private debt funds, new data shows. Faisal Ramzan, a partner at law firm Proskauer Rose who advises private credit funds, said he was not seeing default. "There's plenty of dry powder," said Fidelity International's head of private credit strategies Michael Curtis, referring to capital raised already. Joanna Layton, managing director of European private credit at Alcentra, one of Europe's largest private debt managers, added there was "no rush" to deploy capital. High rates have also made private credit less appealing to institutional investors, analysts said.

In particular, design differences between the Titanic and Olympic, visible in photographs of the two ships, are consistent with the wreckage of Titanic being, in fact, Titanic, and making the switch theory implausible. Another of the ships, Olympic, was put into service the year before, on June 14, 1911, and retired in 1935, with many of its fixtures and fittings auctioned off before it was scrapped. Magellan and its collaborator Atlantic Productions released sample images and animations of the Titanic wreck site scans to media outlets in May 2023, which can be viewed (here), (here). Olympic’s hull number was 400, and Titanic’s was 401. “Meanwhile,” Layton said, “the Titanic’s correct hull number, 401, has been observed at the wreck site and on items recovered from the wreck.

Georgia law places strict limits on slot machines, prohibiting cash winnings, and preventing locations like gas stations and convenience stores from having more than nine slot machines or deriving more than 50% of their revenue from slot machines, according to the company. Headquartered in Norcross, Georgia, Lucky Bucks operates in 345 locations throughout Georgia with approximately 2,300 slot machines. Before filing for bankruptcy, Lucky Bucks had lobbied for a Georgia law that would have protected slot machine operators from “predatory” competition. The proposed bill, which was not passed by Georgia’s legislature, would have prevented a new slot machine from being installed in the nine months following the removal of a different company's slot machine. CNN —Ukraine’s quest for US-made F-16 fighter jets received a big boost over the weekend when US President Joe Biden gave his backing for Kyiv’s pilots to be trained to fly them. In fact, one active duty F-16 pilot told CNN that expectations may be way too high. An F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft has its landing gear extended to land at the US military airfield at Spangdahlem, Germany. This is a multi-year process, and that’s just for the basic tactical unit of employment,” the F-16 pilot said. “To bring in Western aircraft, Ukraine might need to repave and potentially extend a number of runways, a process which Russia would likely detect.

After reaching 89,000 followers across three different social media channels last year, I decided to reach out to brands to start doing paid partnerships. While the majority of my TikTok videos in the past have been silly ones based on popular and trending sounds, I started following this advice. Mass-produce your content in batchesAs a solopreneur who runs a business in the wedding space and freelances on the side, social media isn't my full-time job. CNN —More than 3,000 people were evacuated on Saturday from residential buildings in the Russian city of Belgorod after a bomb was found close to the area accidentally bombed by Russia’s air force earlier this week, Russian state media reported. Explosives specialists assessed the device and said there was no danger of explosion, according to TASS. Late on Thursday, a Russian warplane dropped a bomb on Belgorod – a city of more than 400,000 people close to the border with Ukraine – leaving a large crater, blowing a car onto a roof and damaging nearby buildings. The Belgorod region has been the scene of several explosions and bombings since Russia’s invasion of neighboring Ukraine in February 2022. The city was one of Russian troops’ staging areas in the run up to the invasion.
